I&CO – a global innovation firm with teams in New York, Tokyo, and Singapore – is looking for a full-time Associate Product Design Director to join our team and build new products, brands and ventures with us.

A leader and team-player – You have leadership experience and can be relied on to guide and mentor designers.
User-focused – Your design decisions are inspired by and/or validated through user research.
A practitioner – You are continuously sketching concepts, tweaking flows or polishing designs.
Contribute to a variety of projects, both client-facing and internal – involving user research, project planning, conceptual thinking and prototyping.
Collaborate with teammates from diverse backgrounds including researchers, strategists, technologists, engagement leads and other designers.
Lead and elevate a small team of designers.
Manage multiple work streams, driving your project’s vision forward from problem definition to concept to production.
Determine the most effective way to communicate your ideas and work and present to clients directly.
Create both low and high fidelity deliverables and understand when each format is appropriate.
Evaluate the usability and accessibility of new and existing products and make constructive and informed recommendations.
Plan and execute research to learn about your user’s needs, behaviors, and emotions. Synthesize your findings to improve and/or define the products and experiences you create.
Be supported and mentored by hands-on design leaders who have concepted, designed, and launched dozens of new products, brands and businesses.
5-6 years experience as a UX or digital product designer working in a studio environment, tech, or other relevant industry.
A portfolio with examples of digital products and the thinking, process and craft that went into them.
Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Figma. Experience with prototyping is a plus.
A degree in design, HCI, CS, a related field or equivalent practical experience.
An understanding of today’s technology and its possibilities and limitations.
Excellent design standards and attention to detail.
The ability to partner with senior members of the team and implement stakeholder feedback.
Experience working closely with engineers on technical projects.
We are a remote company that meets in person on a monthly basis. Candidates in the New York City area are preferred, but we’re happy to talk with candidates from other parts of the US if the fit is right. Our typical office hours are 9:00am-6:00pm EST with flexibility available when communicated.
Minimum starting salary: $155,000.
